Smarta flags up some of the big figures and funds you should know about if you're after a grant.
6,000 - the approximate number of
grants available
in the UK.
20,000 - the rough number of grant
schemes operated by the EU.
€375bn - the amount of business grant

distributed by the EU.
£1,000 to €50,000,000 - the range of
grant funding available from the various UK and EU funds.
£20,000 - the funding available for
small businesses with fewer than 10 employees for
basic R&D projects.
£500,000 - the maximum grant available
for small businesses undertaking R&D projects of '
significant technological advancement'.
£10,000 - the minimum amount that can
be applied for under the Grant for Business Investment which
typically supports 10-15% of costs incurred by businesses investing

receive when recruiting a jobseeker who has
