Half our income is transactional, and comes in through subscription payments from users and affiliate deals, and half is advertising.

In the short term, our competitors are other streaming services on the internet. In the long term, though, it's traditional analogue radio.

We have unique content which is curated by experts and enthusiasts, and it's all available on demand for free.

So far we have self-financed by bootstrapping, and we've had a grant from the UK Technology and Strategy Board.

We were developing film and games applications for Facebook.
30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?
The idea was born out of the frustrations of both finding, and promoting, independent radio content online.
35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?
About a year ago, we quit our full-time jobs to concentrate on Mixcloud.

Not having done it earlier.
