Carly Ward, Young Entrepreneur Society

Carly Ward founded the Young Entrepreneur Society (YES) last year. The 21 year old had one aim in mind: to help the next generation of entrepreneurs find the resources and advice they would need to start a business.

"From a very young age I wanted to run my own businesses and become an entrepreneur," she says. "Growing up, I enjoyed watching Dragons' Den just as much as the soaps - if not more!"

Ward started YES almost by accident. In 2008, Ward realised that she was "unemployable": the only solution was to start her own business. She searched the internet for information on business planning and venture finance, but was put off by the sheer volume of data out there. So she decided to take action: "I decided to create a quick and easy programme for young people to learn entrepreneurial and personal development skills," she says.

Thus, YES was born. Since inception, Ward has interviewed scores of successful entrepreneurs to compile her 12 Steps to Success programme. She works in tandem with schools and colleges to educate young people about entrepreneurship and help them get the skills they need to succeed in business.

And that's not all. Ward is now looking to take her business to the next level by starting a young entrepreneurs network. Can Ward do it? The answer is YES.
