The co-founder of Boudiche, Clare Thommen, is a female
entrepreneur who set up a luxury lingerie brand based in Scotland
with business partner Fiona McLean. The concept for Boudiche
started with a Lemongrass Martini cocktail and is now a hugely
successful company stocking a large range of lingerie names.
The two founders struggled to find a suitable small business
loan from a bank, and it was on receiving a grant from The Prince's
Trust, that the business was able to develop into a reality. The
trust was able to offer a mentor who had a lot of experience in
retail and the advice and help that the mentor provided proved
invaluable.
This entrepreneur video shows how defining roles within a
business partnership helps to breakdown tasks and maintain control
of all sectors of a company. Clare Thommen also says that given the
personal nature of lingerie, a special attention is required to the
product being sold in terms of style and fit. The marketing
strategy of Boudiche of catering to customer wants and offering a
personalised service is what sets the business out as being
unique.
