Dave Wallwork, Feel Good Drinks
The founder of beverage company Feel Good Drinks on competing with Coca-Cola and how employee motivation is about more than just feeling good.
Dave Wallwork and co-founders Steve Cooper and Christ Wright
created Feel Good Drinks in 2001. The trio met while developing new
products for Coca-Cola and identified a gap in the UK market for
good value healthy juice drinks. The company rapidly developed and
has since expanded to four drinks ranges, spreading 'feelgoodness'
from more than 6,500 outlets, and becoming one of the most
recognisable soft drinks brands in the UK.
In this video Dave Wallwork draws from his experience of taking
a business idea and developing it into a successful company. He
suggests marketing strategies and points out that for any idea the
key starting point is to get the consumer to try the product or
service. This is particularly relevant for those start ups entering
the market with a small budget. The entrepreneur also suggests
methods for developing the brand through logo design, slogans, and
advertising.
Dave Wallwork highlights the importance of finding buyers who
are enthusiastic about trying out new things and how a deal with
Superdrug helped Feel Good Drinks become such a success. The
teams' background in the soft drink industry meant that Feel Good
Drinks was able to grow at a fast pace using a wealth of experience
and know-how.
