Eileen has been at the intersection of online, consumer and
enterprise software, search and digital photography throughout the
course of her career. Before founding Blurb, she worked all over
the world with Kodak and as VP at Wall Data before and after the
IPO, CEO of Personify (behavioural segmentation and analytics) and
Verb (context search), outside board director at Qbiquity and
Popular Demand. She has raised over $60 million in venture capital
throughout her career.
In this video interview with Eileen Gittens, the serial
entrepreneur speaks of how she came about the idea for Blurb and
the processes involved in its founding in 2005. Gittens believe
that any entrepreneur can make their own luck by having the ability
to recognise the appropriate trends and time for your business
idea.
Hear of the three key issues that Eileen identified when "doing
a 360" on her business idea, including the prospect of jail. She
also clearly outlines her criteria for a good business plan and the
importance of a concise pitch. Learn about the marketing strategy
of Blurb, which has become a successful web based company without
having to pay a dollar for advertising and a constant fine-tuning
of its content means the most effective service is available.
Eileen Gittens also highlights the importance of networking and
