Kavita Oberoi started her IT and business healthcare consultancy, Oberoi Consulting, in 2001 after she was turned down for a promotion at Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
In August 2008, Kavita appeared on Channel 4's The Secret Millionaire, where she became involved in Martha's Oasis, supporting the 'Sisters with Voices' programme to help young girls gain self-esteem. Kavita continues to be involved in the charity as its director, and says she wants to share her success and inspire and help people.
In this video interview the successful entrepreneur talks about the early days of her consulting business and her first job which was a huge contract requiring freelancers. Kavita explains her philanthropic work and why timing is important for her in decision making and how a trip to India inspired her to help others. She also speaks about juggling work and family life and her thoughts on women's profile in business.
Oberoi gives expert advice on staff motivation and how the recession can be seen as an opportunity not a hindrance for an entrepreneur.
