The founder of TrademarkDirect.co.uk walks us through the complex trademarking process
Mark Kingsley Williams is co-founder of Trade Mark Direct, a
business with the goal of making registering a brand or business
name much more simple and affordable. In 2004 Mark joined Dan
Scarfe to develop the software required to improve trade mark
services. Before joining the venture he had been a senior manager
and angel investor in various early stage technology businesses
such as the internet content company sold to Gameplay plc in 1999
and Infinitesima Ltd. Although the company mainly works in UK and
CTM (EU) trade mark registration, they have plans to expand the
business into other EU countries and in the US.
Mark Kingsley Williams, the successful technology entrepreneur,
talks about his 3 past failed attempts in trade mark applications
that all came with a high price. In this video interview he also
speaks of the critical importance of research especially legal
issues and finding a brand or logo designer who is aware of
trademark issues. Mark gives expert advice on trading abroad and
securing a community trademark and emphasises the time consuming
process involved in application for trade marks.
This interview provides invaluable information and advice on how
