60 second start-up: Wealthystudent.co.uk

0-5 seconds: Sum your business up in a sentence

Wealthystudent.co.uk is the newest, funkiest, most important site for UK university students…EVER.

5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

In 12 months, I will be partying with some students who I've helped saved a ton of money at university

Revenue comes through affiliate deals, sponsorship and strategic partnerships. We'll also be bringing out a student discount card very shortly.

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

Why would I want to give them any exposure? That's crazy! I'm not worried about them, though.

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

We have a unique strategy for your business to reach university students. We offer return on investment marketing which is important in the current economy.

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

Savings, small family donation, some profit, a £3,500 grant from the government (through my university) and a handy £5,000 win for an entrepreneur of the year competition through Men's Health magazine!

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

I was at university, selling cruises in an office filled with 12 girls. I got fed up with it (the job that is, not the girls) and decided to set up my own business. I had always been interested in business and the internet was the perfect chance to set up on my own.

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

I figured I had to do something student-related as I was at uni. I had saved up £10k at university and knew saving money was a strength I had - the idea just evolved from there.

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

To not give up and have resounding self-belief.

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

Me, stupid? Never!

45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?

A chocolate-covered hob nob.

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

Probably this thing I saw in the joke shop the other day. It was a penis-shaped egg maker. You'd put your eggs into the template shape and the yolks would have to be perfectly positioned as the testicles. Now, who doesn't want one of those?

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

Partying with some students who I've helped saved a ton of money at university!
