SeedCamp
Started by venture capitalist Saul Klein, SeedCamp brings
together the cream of Europe and the USA's tech entrepreneurs,
investors, marketers and product developers to show the next
generation of talent how it's done. The week-long series of events
usually attracts around 500 applicants, but open to just 20
entrepreneurs who are allowed to compete for seed funding from some
of the world's top investors. While usually, around five teams walk
away with the prize which includes a £50,000 investment and a
three-month bootcamp, it's the taking part which really counts. In
the words of SeedCamp's Reshma Sohoni: "The beauty of Seedcamp is
that a start-up can fill his or her rolodex in one day with quality
business contacts that it would normally take five years to
build."

Digital Mission
Organised by digital media organisation Chinway and UK Trade and
Investment (UKTI), Digital Mission is a series of trade missions
which take UK technology startups to various locations in the US to
show them how they do things across the pond. Missions typically
include masterclasses, networking, marketing support, and meetings
with all-important contacts. While applications are closed for this
year's trip to LA and San Francisco, the deadline for the
November's trip to New York is September 18. Be prepared, though -
competition for the limited number of places is fierce.
