Go global

global_ew_logo.JPGSmarta has been getting all excited about Global Entrepreneurship Week, which starts on Monday. The week is an expanded version of Make Your Mark’s Enterprise Week, which had over half a million people attending more than 5,000 events last year.In the UK, events will include ‘Business without Borders’ at the University of York, where students will work in teams via video link with students from Zhejiang University to tackle an enterprise case study, while in the House of Lords, The Pink Shoe Club will host 100 enterprising (and terribly civilised) ladies, who will take part in 10 simultaneous afternoon tea debates about prosperity, passion and power.Highlights also include The Make Your Mark Challenge, the UK’s largest one-day enterprise competition for schools, various Speednetworking events, as championed by networker extraordinaire and friend of Smarta Oli Barrett – as well as hundreds of other events to inspire you to start or grow your business, access finance, develop new skills, find new clients, or just meet new people. Check out the organisation’s events page for a comprehensive list of everything happening in your area. And who knows? The celebrations could even inspire some of the 13,000 or so poor souls whose jobs have been cut this week to start a business of their own.
