5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

Our customers create and design online, pay securely through PayPal then we print and post, priority first class.

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

There are some very good personalised greeting companies - in particular Moonpig, Touchnote and Whamoosh. We don't really compete with them because they are....erm....too small?!

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

Sheer size and impact, the 'reveal' of the message when delivered AND we can accept orders up to 4.30PM on any weekday for dispatch same day.

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

Private funds. Preparing for equity investment early 2011.

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

Head of sales & marketing for a charity past seven years. Prior to this I was a test pilot for Durex. (This is not actually true!!)

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

February 13 2009, 3pm: I was working many miles away from home and wanted to send my wife a Valentines with some real impact. Searched online and the 'usual' gifts did not inspire me and I thought why not send a massive love heart with a message. The idea rolled on from there.

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

Very quickly stopped doing the stupidest (see below).

40-45: What's the stupidest?

Getting too involved in stuff I know nothing about. Trying to design my own website. Blowing too much money on AdWords like an amateur. Designing some graphics myself which were so awful they hurt my eyes! All of this is done by professionals now.

45-50: If your business was a biscuit, what type would it be?

Wagon Wheel. It is bigger than every other biscuit.

50-55: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

Moonpig. This is why we want a little slice of their bacon.

55-60: Where are you going to be in 12 months time?

Profitable. Selecting licenses for USA, Australia, Germany and Japan.
