15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

First-line managers are often the 'least ready' workgroup and being thrown into the deep, left to either sink or swim. Our platform allows a company to show that it is committed to its managers' development and that it embraces current technology and cultural trends.

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

Savings, credit cards, my husband's income (he works as a teacher's assistant in special education) and my parents (my mom is my biggest fan). I am yet to ask my neighbours for help.

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

I managed a Waffle House and worked as an executive assistant.

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

My first six months as a Waffle House manager were an emotional roller-coaster and I originally joked around that I wanted to create a 'support group' for young business managers.

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

Changed my mindset when I felt rejection.

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

The first thing I should have done: make valuable contacts in my business community and develop relationships with influential bloggers, authors, contributors and niche-relevant folks (on twitter, at virtual conferences, in HR or training associations and the like).

45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?

In America, it would be a sausage biscuit, simply because it's my favourite.If my business was in Europe, I would ask: what biscuit do you want from me? And deliver accordingly...

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

Registering domain names many years ago and selling them for big money now.

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

Probably right here in front of my laptop, or in front of an audience as I'm trying to get over my fear of giving presentations.
