On March 5-11, WebMission 2011 is heading to San Francisco.
Web Mission 2011 will see 20 of the UK's most innovative, fast-growing web companies heading to the Bay Area to explore a whole raft of business opportunities. You'll meet the hottest start-ups on the 'Frisco scene, US journalists, high profile VCs, and you'll get real flavour for the pace of life in Silicon Valley.
Previous Mission attendees have gone on to raise (literally) millions of dollars in venture capital. Many of these firms have also signed significant deals with US partners, opened US offices and significantly raised their profile with the US media. It's an incredible opportunity. And time is running out to apply...
Run by Polecat and serial entrepreneur Oli Barrett, applicants to Web Mission will be assessed on 'business viability' and 'the strength of the management team.'
Barrett says: "The final selection will be balanced to form a mix of companies that show the breadth of what the UK has to offer in this space."
So, if you're a young company making waves in any of these sectors: mobile, social, semantic and real-time web, Cloud2, social gaming, and 3-D/RealVR environments, this could be your big break.
Bebo co-founder Michael Birch says, "The WebMission represents an amazing opportunity for the best of entrepreneurial UK Talent to visit Silicon Valley and learn for themselves the differences that make the US a breeding ground for innovation and, more importantly, successful execution of ideas."
