For sale: Christmas.co.uk!

For sale: Christmas.co.uk!14 December 2011 by Jon

The festive domain name Christmas.co.uk is to be auctioned for more than £50,000.

In the run up to the holidays, Christmas.co.uk is on sale and has attracted dozens of offers above its substantial minimum bid.

Around this time of year, Domains with intense SEO possibilities sell for surprising amounts. Wisemen.com went for £3,073.56 in recent years, despite the first having nothing to do with the famous story or the Christmas period.

But why would a business pay such high rates for something as simple as a domain name?

The answer is the benefits being reaped through SEO when customers are parting with more of their money than they normally would.

Christmas.co.uk is going to be appearing in a lot of internet searches over the coming weeks and the traffic alone will be enough to make an entrepreneur a lot of money, never mind whatever product is placed in the site.

If proof of the demand for effective domain names is needed, consider websites which won't be receiving the benefits of SEO such as afuj.com, which sold for less than £40.

As usual, the rewards of domain names go to those who can find what other people are not even looking for. Christmaspaper.co.uk was sold for around £170 and is incredibly efficient for SEO.

Keep an eye out for how much Christmas.co.uk sells for to see how much businesses are willing to spend to capture the benefits of festive searching.
