0-5 seconds: Sum your business up in a sentence
Natterbox provides cloud-based voice services to mid/large-sized businesses that integrate telecoms and CRM, allowing for a personalised experience for each caller and an enhanced calling experience.
5-10 seconds: What's the business model?
100% channel sales, no minimum contract periods and no upfront service fees.
10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?
We have a fairly unique business offering, so as yet we haven't found one!
15-20 seconds: What's your USP?
Focusing on what type of telephone experience the business' customer wants, such as always speaking to the same person without having to wade through options, as well as finding bespoke solutions to the everyday annoyances that businesses encounter, for example cold calling.
20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?
Natterbox has been self-funded by its employees.
25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?
I sold my previous business, Email Systems, in 2007 to Webroot. I was one of the first in the country to create a business that provided SaaS based email security.
30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?
Being frustrated that when I called large businesses I could never reach the same person twice, so would often have to repeat information and having similar complaints from my customers in a previous business once it got to a certain size.
35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?
Having kids and learning to fly hang gliders (in that order!)
40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?
Tumbling my hang glider whilst showing off and avoiding death (just) thanks to an emergency parachute.
45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?
A Jaffa cake - very moreish, a good core and slightly different!
50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?
Groupon - effectively outsourced sales and marketing for any business - brilliant.
55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?
Providing services in several European countries, North America and Australia.
