Hilary Devey to replace James Caan as BBC's new Dragon

When James Caan made the shock announcement that he was leaving Dragons' Den last month, rumour abounded regarding his successor.

But the BBC has today announced that none other than Hilary Devey, entrepreneur and serial investor, will be taking her place on the panel alongside Dragons Theo Paphitis, Duncan Bannatyne, Deborah Meaden and Peter Jones.

So, how will this affect the dynamic on the show? It certainly can't hurt. There had been a considerable cooling off of affection towards James Caan in recent shows...

Great to have another woman on the show too. Devey has bounced back from times of real hardship, risen to the top of a male-dominated industry, and battled her demons in the public eye. She will be a truly inspirational figure for young entrepreneurs and women especially.

Can't wait to see her in action.
