60 second start-up: Doofa.co.uk

0-5 seconds: Sum your business up in a sentence

An online marketplace for people to buy and sell goods or services for a set amount of money.

5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

Free to advertise, income generated from sales of 'doofa's' and 'featured' doofa's.

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

Fiverr is the biggest similar site in the US, we aim to be the UK equivalent before taking over the world.

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

Doofa.co.uk is a website virtually anyone can use to make money. We're looking forward to seeing what ideas people come up with. If you have any sort of skill, creativity or just a mad idea then we are the portal to turn it into cash.

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

So far, we've self funded.

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

I worked in the construction industry after selling my previous business.

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

We were inspired by fiverr but wanted to put a British twist on it. For instance, who wouldn't want to buy a fake invite to a certain upcoming Royal Wedding for £10?!

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

Not spending thousands on a website but still managing to make it intuitive and nice looking.

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

Working on our budget and thinking we'd have time to sleep!

45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?

A jammy dodger; substantial but with a bit of fun in the middle.

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

Twitter, for the obvious answer.

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

Celebrating the success of Doofa and launching several other projects we currently have in the pipeline.
