Two weeks left to enter the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011

Formed of Alan Sugar's right-hand woman Karren Brady, Office Depot's John O'Keeffe, small business writer Guy Clapperton and James Frost, marketing director at Nectar, the panel will be inspecting ideas and scrutinising spreadsheets to find this year's winners.

Past winners have included NotontheHighStreet, Kiddivouchers, and Superjam. Top prize for each category winner is £2,000, 50,000 Nectar points, and, of course, lots of free media coverage.

Kiddivouchers, which delivers government childcare vouchers to companies such as Littlewoods, walked away with the award for Small Business of the Year in 2010.

Founders Alison and Calum Chalmers said: "We've seen our business grow from one client to over 3,500, and we're still seeing consistently strong growth.

Our success is testament to the hard work and commitment of everyone at KiddiVouchers and we would like to thank the whole team."

The awards, now in their third year, accept entries in the following categories:

  • Small Business of the Year
  • Start Up Of The Year
  • Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Contribution to the Community Award
  • Online Business of the Year

The awards are free to enter, and the prize money will be a welcome cash injection for any small business. Nectar points can be spent on business essentials at companies such as Viking Direct, Dulux Decorator Centres, Philips, or used to save on travel with the likes of Expedia, Easyjet and Eurostar.

Brady said: "I'm honoured to be part of the judging team for the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011 as they recognise hard working entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the UK who work tirelessly to make their businesses a success. Small businesses are the driving force behind the UK economy and too often their work goes unnoticed."

Frost added: "The Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2011 will shine a spotlight on thriving small businesses, entrepreneurs and social enterprises.

"This is their opportunity to showcase how they've beaten the odds by working hard, identifying gaps in the marketplace and capitalising on imaginative, innovative ideas. Furthermore, we hope that the awards will continue to inspire more people to consider setting up their own business."

If you haven't entered yet, there's still time.
