Bigdog is a website for 14-24 year olds looking for an alternative to university.
Our revenue comes through onsite advertising, but via the website we are building a community of people who don't want to go to university. They utilise the site to search for jobs and get advice from not just ourselves but also each other, which will then help them to increase their chances of success.
Notgoingtouni & government based sites such as Connexions are our two biggest competitors.
We cover the entire market! With over 5,000 apprenticeships and 25,000 entry level vacancies UK wide no one else can match our offering, aside from this we also over our users special offers and promotions.

I was the managing director of a training company and prior to that I was running a financial services group.
My last business trained 16-18 year olds in a few locations and the constant feedback was that they'd prefer to talk to each other and receive advice and information about careers and courses from their peers. As such I thought we should give them the forum to do this.
Listened to my customers.
Worked on a gentleman's agreement.
Jaffa Cake - a bit controversial as it covers 2 markets….. cake and biscuit.
Innocent - a beautifully simple concept executed incredibly well and doing brilliantly.
Extending the Bigdog brand to include other products.
