Event to help former armed forces become entrepreneurs

The event will see a panel of former service men and women explain how they turned their unique skills into launching a business after their army career. The event will also give members of the armed forces a chance to learn about all of the initiatives available to support them.

The event, moderated by the founder of Real Business magazine Matthew Rock, will feature a panel of great business personalities all with a shared background int he armed forces. They include William Kendall from the New Covent Garden Soup Company and Green & Blacks; Sarah-Jane Hill, the founder of Bish Bosh Becca; Peter Fitchett, the founder of Absolute Rubbish; and Ben Brabyn, the founder of Bmycharity and co-founder of This Tribe.

'Inspiring Entrepreneurs: From Battlefield to Business' will also feature Claire Perry as the keynote speaker. Perry is the MP for Devizes and was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretar to Philip Hammond, the Secretary of State for Defence.

The event will take place on Tuesday 3 July from 6.15pm to 9pm at The British Library Conference Centre. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time for £10.

The British Library Business & IP Centre is asking attendees to tweet questions to @bipc using #blforces. For those unable to attend, the event will be live webcast.
