In the run-up to the 2012 Smarta 100 awards we have
caught up with previous winners to find out how they benefited from
scooping the award. Here David Hathiramani the co-founder of
www.asuitthatfits.com explains what winning the
Smarta 100 meant to him and how the business has developed since
then.
What stage was your business at when you won Smarta
100?
We were part of the Smarta 100 in 2010; at that stage, we'd just
launched our first studio outside of London - we now have a network
of 33 locations nationwide and a concession in John Lewis Oxford
Street.
Why did you enter the awards?
We knew that entering the awards would be a great opportunity
for us to network with other businesses, enable more people to hear
about A Suit That Fits and that if we won the award, it would be a
fantastic seal of approval.
What was the experience like?
We've had the chance to attend some great networking events and
have received exposure on Smarta.com - overall, it's been a really
fun and inspiring experience.
How has your business benefited from being a part of
Smarta 100?
Smarta 100 has been great for building the confidence of our
customers, as well as giving us the chance to network within the
business community and raising our profile.
What has your business achieved since being named a
Smarta 100 winner?
Since being a Smarta 100 winner, we've really grown as a
business. We've developed a network of over 30 locations
nationwide, won a number of prestigious awards and launched our
first concession in John Lewis Oxford Street.
What is your top tip for any company thinking of
entering Smarta 100 this year?
It's really important that you have something that catches the
judges' eye - tell them what makes you so special and why you
should be part of the Smarta 100. Also, learn from previous winners
and ask them for feedback - they'll likely be happy to help.
