5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

It's a straightforward model. We agree the sale with the supplier, sell the products in a website flash sale, buy them from the supplier and ship them to the customers.

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

There are sites that sell goods similar to the ones we sell. They include Zulily, Mums United, Half Pint Chic, Achica, Brand Alley, Mothercare, Kiddicare and Amazon.

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

If you can beat it, we will meet it. Basically, we'll refund the difference if you can find a product more cheaply on the web while we have it on sale.

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

Founders, friends, family and angel investors.

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

I was running a web consultancy.

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

It came from observing this particular retail model in operation and identifying mums as a perfect target audience.

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

Going for a run when it all seems too much.

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

Not putting social network links on our product and sale pages in the original spec.

45-50 seconds: If you business was a biscuit, what would it be?

A chocolate hobnob - because it's something every mum needs.

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

I'm more jealous that others delivered good ideas that we'd had before we managed to do it. For example, running event-driven sales and making the login/sign up page smoother.

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

Turning over £8m, running at least five sales a day, and operating sites in the rest of Europe.
