This free event is the second in a programme of evenings as part of the Smarta 100 Academy, together with O2. It provides a chance for start-ups to receive advice and guidance from experienced entrepreneurs while networking with fellow business owners. The Smarta 100 is a one-of-a-kind competition for small businesses with a top prize of £10,000.
'Navigating the World of Funding' will explore the finance options available for businesses, from the traditional bank to crowdfunding, and discuss what types of finance suit certain start-ups. As well as insider information on how to access the finance you need and ensure your company is 'investment ready." The audience will also benefit from personal advice from entrepreneurs and business owners who have been through the process before.
"I am looking forward to speaking about how to access financing," says Darren Westlake founder and CEO of Crowdcube who will be speaking at the event. "Anyone seeking funding for their business or hoping to learn about the different options available should attend."
The event will be hosted by Smarta founder Shaa Wasmund and will also feature Luke Hakes of Octopus Investments; former Smarta 100 winner Sam Barnett of Struq; Nick Howe, regional enterprise manager, NatWest Business Banking; and another Smarta 100 winner Gem Misa founder of salad dressings company Righteous, who this year raised £75,000 investment though Crowdcube.
The event will take place on 23 July, 6.30pm-10pm at One Alfred Place in London. For more information and to register, click here.
