Smarta's High Five Friday: 8 Feb! Congrats to these small businesses

Hubbub

We're all for the local high street here at Smarta and feel anyone helping to fend off the invasion of huge brands to our beloved high streets deserves a high five. Hubbub help support independent shops by making them accessible to people who don't have the time to visit.  The business delivers 4,000 products from 32 independent shops across 200 postcodes of London.  Founder Marisa Leaf also gave us a great quote for our article on why you should buy local.

CrowdCube

Equity crowdfunding website Crowdcube announced that it is now authorised by the Financial Services Authority( FSA). This is great news as it makes Crowdcube the only regulated equity crowdfunding platform where investors can become direct shareholders in UK businesses. Well done to the founders Luke Lang and Darren Westlake, here's to adding to the £5million Crowdcube has already raised for businesses since its launch in 2011.

Web Mission 2013 to India -

Sixteen of the UK's most promising digital, wireless and mobile software companies have won a place on this entrepreneur led trip to India. The aim is to develop new relationships and open each business to the growing Indian market. Smarta have managed to get on the trip too. Make sure you check our blog next week for all the news and info from this awesome trip.

Tendersave

Congratulations to entrepreneur Tom Mursell and the BETA launch of his start-up tendersave.co.uk. Mursell is a friend of Smarta and no doubt we'll be covering this innovative business as it grows and grows.
