60 second start-up: Pistachio Rose

0-5 seconds: Sum your business up in a sentence

London's first boutique bakery fusing sweet Indian flavours with modern, elegant baking

5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

A wholesale production business partnering with luxury retail/hospitality outlets

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

Every other luxury bakery brand!

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

Flavour.  There isn't another brand fusing Indian flavours into bakery which appeals to foodies as well as the wider Indian community

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

Savings which have allowed me to work unpaid

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

My background is in buying, at Waitrose and then at Amazon

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

My passion to raise awareness and change the perception of Indian sweets and desserts in UK

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

Persevered, even when in doubt

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

Not taking on a mentor earlier into the journey

45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?

Well that's easy as we were voted one of London's top 5 biscuit makers so it would have to be the aromatic shortbread!

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

|I think popchips have done an amazing job of taking the UK market by storm with a really simple product

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

I'd love to be supplying London's top delis and cafes, be catering for Indian weddings and supplying desserts to a small sector of the Indian restaurant market.
