NatWest and Google helping small businesses compete online

More than one in four businesses find it harder to compete due to the internet. Visibility and price are where small business feel they are falling behind, with 26% of those NatWest questioned saying they struggle to be noticed online and 37% saying they can't compete on price.

The research found that most businesses know how important of social media is when promoting their business, but few actually use it. This gulf between knowing what a business should be doing, and doing it, is harming small business growth in Britain.

Peter Ibberston, small business chairman at NatWest is hoping to show small businesses how they could do more with their digital presence in the free hangout with experts from Google.

Free Seminar

"One in five businesses want to advertise online but don't know how, which is why we're inviting them to a free seminar." Ibberston said, "At NatWest we bank a quarter of high street businesses so it's important we help them to make the most of opportunities online, not just to survive but to thrive."

The NatWest/Google Hangout online will start at 2pm on June 25th and businesses that register for the event will also be given £100 of Google ads for £25. To register, click here.
