Confidence among Britain's small businesses at an all-time high

The Federation of Small Businesses has released its latest index highlighting the rise of confidence about the economy.

Beating the previous high of 18 recorded in the first quarter of 2010, the confidence Index rose to +33.5 in the third quarter of 2013. It's double the 15.9 score from the second quarter of 2013. The data shows three successive quarters of growth in 2013.

If it’s flexibility you’re looking for, in your own environment, then small business is the place to be. Four in 10 firms have reported increased revenues in the last three months, with investment opportunities at the highest point since the FSB began to capture the data.

Let's hope blue skies are replacing the stormy clouds of recession which hung  over the head of small business owners in the last few years. In fact,  for the first time since the report began, small businesses are looking to employ staff rather than reduce their workforce. Less stress and more business, the perfect environment for a small business to prosper.
