Smarta founder Shaa Wasmund awarded MBE

Shaa knows all about thriving in a challenging economic climate having launched Smarta during one of the worst recessions this country has experienced. Smarta has grown to become the leading small business resource in the UK, helping over 500,000 businesses a month. 

She joins a stellar entrepreneurial list to be given honours this year including O2 Smarta 100 judge and CBE Charlie Mullins, founder of Pimlico Plumbers and MBE Richard Moross, CEO of business card company

Brent Hoberman, who co-founded in 1998 with Martha Lane Fox, has been awarded a CBE with recognition for his services to entrepreneurship.

Former Dragon’s Den panellist James Caan and English inventor Trevor Baylis have also been recognised with the same award.

Founder of online music platform SBTV Jamal Edwards and The Cambridge Satchel Company founder Julie Deane have been awarded with an OBE.
