With so many businesses walking away from bricks and mortar shops in favour of a solely digital presence, the rise of PopUps makes perfect sense. It’s a chance to experience some of that personal branding that only comes from one on one interaction, and an opportunity to see what customers think of your products first hand.
PopUp Britain is giving as many small businesses as possible the chance to exhibit their products, for a short amount of time, at the country’s hottest shopping spots. They’ve done it before in London, but this time they’ve set up shop in Birmingham.
80 businesses will be given the time and space to show off what they can do in the Bullring in Birmingham (which actually has more footfall than Piccadilly!). To be one of the lucky 80, apply here and start thinking about how you’ll present your shop to the masses.
Bullring is one of the UK’s most successful shopping destinations with an average annual footfall of 38m" Tim Walley, Bullring general manager
Sports start from April 15 and last for a week at a time. Just like when PopUp Britain opened the doors of an empty shop in Piccadilly, twelve retailers will inhabit the space at any one time.
PopUp Britain manager Becky Jones said: “Our first shop under the ATCM mantle is going to be massive! It’s got the highest footfall of any of the shops we’ve opened to date – and it’s also the first we’ve opened in the Midlands.
“This kind of opportunity is beyond the wildest dreams of most new retail businesses. It’s an absolutely incredible space and will give brand exposure to a whole new audience. We want to hear from up-and-coming retailers who want to take part over the coming weeks.”
Tim Walley, Bullring general manager said: "Bullring is one of the UK’s most successful shopping destinations with an average annual footfall of 38m. We have a great track record of helping local businesses and the community and it’s something our customers find engaging and unique to the Bullring experience."
PopUp Birmingham is sponsored by John Lewis and each individual retailer will be offered expert visual merchandising help to each of the new retailers in store learn how to make their products appeal to shoppers.
I was there in Piccadilly when PopUp Britain welcomed dozens of fantastic independent retailers and it is a brilliant chance to get your brand out there. As well as the huge volume of footfall, there was also press there and tons of great collaboration between the businesses on show.
