5-10 seconds: What's the business model?

We measure customers wherever is most convenient, discuss fabric samples and customise the suit online. Delivery takes up to 30 days with a Perfect Fit Guarantee.

10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?

Our main competitors are high street retail brands such as M&S, T.M.Lewin, Moss Bros’. There are other online competitors however they are predominantly based in America. 

15-20 seconds: What's your USP?

With InStitchu, you have the freedom to create a custom tailored suit online and see it update in real time.  

20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?

We funded the company initially with our own personal finances. We have essentially bootstrapped the business since day one because of our strategic business model.

25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?

Matt: I was working in China as an international expat for a major retail company opening stores and training local managers how to run a multi-million dollar stores.

Elliot: I was travelling the world opening my eyes and embracing new cultures with the objective to find innovative ideas to bring back to the UK.

30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?

We both knew a lot of guys that struggled to find a well-fitting suit including ourselves and set out to discover a more efficient and affordable method.

35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?

We introduced standard size jackets to ensure a better fitting suit first time. Building our social networks has also been key in raising the brand profile.

40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?

We spent money attending wedding fairs at a time when we needed short term capital but in hindsight we should have realised sales from these wouldn’t be until the following year.

45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?

A hobnob, you can choose from many different varieties dependent on your taste. And no matter what you choose you’re are left 100% satisfied and wanting more.

50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?

Twitter… it’s simplistic, effective, addictive and can be used for business or social connections.

55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?

We’re looking to continue expansion across the UK and become known as ‘The Innovative Tailors’ within the industry. Bringing fashion back into the business environment and making people excited to get dressed for work to show off their sartorial demeanour.
