What can technology do to drive business growth?

Some business owners don’t see technology as a priority, but what they don’t realise is that technology can seriously enhance the way they operate, aligning to business goals, saving money in the long run and helping to drive growth.

It’s time business owners took charge of investment in technology and realised the huge benefits it can bring. So, here are three tips to get you started:

  • Get a website. The majority of consumers will expect some kind of online presence. When your customers can’t find you online you lose an important sales channel. But remember, your website can be so much more than a shop front. In fact, it’s better than that. Since the Internet never sleeps your shop will be open 24/7, with no additional effort needed from you out of office hours.
  • Move your IT into the cloud or start using cost-effective cloud services. This will give you access to some of the most useful services around but at small-company prices. It will allow you to offer agile services to your customers and to enable mobility in your workforce. Mobility is a key factor in the way modern businesses operate.
  • Reassess your technology providers. Do you have too many when you could get what you need from just one? You might have one supplier for email, another for your phone, another for your website, and someone else for your storage. The list goes on. Take the time to look for a provider that can attend to all your technology needs. Then, when something goes wrong, there’s someone to take control and to provide the support that you need.

Ask the advice of an expert consultancy. If you’re ready to take the next big step in business and you want to see your business grow, there will be a number of ways in which you can leverage technology to do so. Business technology may help solve a particular challenge that you have now but, crucially, it will help you prepare for the future.
