0-5 seconds: Sum your business up in a sentence:
On-site, on demand mobile phone repair
5-10 seconds: What's the business model?
We understand that our phones are critical to the way we run our lives. When you break your phone screen, instead of sending your phone off for repair and waiting days for it to be fixed, we offer you a safe, quick service to get your phone up and running as soon as possible. From cracked to fixed in under an hour.
10-15 seconds: Who are your competitors?
Our competitors are the shops and repair-by-post companies that have been operating in the UK for some time. Phone Dudes has created and paved its own path, priding ourselves on speed and quality and providing an unrivalled service.
15-20 seconds: What's your USP?
Secure repair done in front of the customer in under 10 minutes. We are the fastest and most secure way to make your phone good as new.
20-25 seconds: How have you funded it so far?
Phone Dudes was privately by company directors.
25-30 seconds: What were you doing before?
Commercial office leasing. which while successful has become secondary to my passion for Phone Dudes.
30-35 seconds: Where did the idea come from?
The lack of an immediate mobile repair service when one member of staff in the office had smashed their phone. I responded with, "Why isn't there a service that would come to us to perform the repair?” The next day Phone Dudes was born.
35-40 seconds: What's the smartest thing you've done so far?
Creating processes that allow us to perform our repair service in under 10 minutes
40-45 seconds: What's the stupidest?
Print advertising for sure.
45-50 seconds: If your business was a biscuit, what would it be?
Oreo because we like to take them apart and put them back together again - see what I did there...
50-55 seconds: Which idea are you a bit jealous of?
I like businesses that are based on information exchange, where there isn't any tangible product involved. That and transactional based models where more established businesses are undercut with the consumer benefiting.
55-60 seconds: Where are you going to be in 12 months' time?
UK wide and setting up more Dudes and Dudettes around the continent.
