Sajeda Patel My idea is making bespoke party bags/favour boxes for occasions. This is at least a 50% profit business because the resources can be bought cheaply in bulk from wholesalers and there is big market for this out there at the moment.

Lauren J Smith I would invest the £100 in getting a professional set of 4 proptypes of my invention, a removeable wipe clean shoulderstrap for highchairs, car seats & shopping trolleys. Then I would take this to Princes Trust to get a start-up loan to be able to patent it, then once I have the patent I would approach retailers to get their interest and then hopefully secure enough order to justify getting it manufactured! And after all of that I will go on Dragons Den and see if they will invest in me!

Claire Hobbs I would start a window cleaning round, invest my £100 on basic equipment and then get cleaning!

Charlie Baron With the London 2012 Olympic games coming up i would invest my £100 on over 100 Great Britain flags at a cost of 50p each. I would then sell them for around 4.99 on ebay or by hand outside the Olympic venue. This should make a 600% profit of around £600

Sandy Hallett Mse For £100 I could start my business as a self emplyed temp - That would be enough for me to use as an advertising budget and travel. I would advertise myself as a self employed temp which would save companies a lot of money through temp agency fee's etc..

Beth Fenn With £100 I would start a business where for a token fee you can register for e-mails or texts when your fave programme(s) are uploaded onto iTunes. It could even be free if I could make money by attaching an advert from a company to the text or mail instead of charging the customer :)

Tina Meenan I would buy scrap material and make activity blankets full of pockets for people in nursing homes with Dementia. The nurses could fill the pockets with each persons individual keep sakes or items of interest to the person. This would be wonderful and cheap way of helping people and making a successful business!!!

Chris 'Blinky' Driscoll Business on a Budget..... Facebook marketing, the easiest way to generate a lot of 'likes' for your page in my opinon, we did it for Stop, Drop, Rock! Clothing communicate on the page, then create a competition, to win one of your products etc, nothing too high value. All people need to do is suggest your page to theirfriends, write on your wall to say they have done it, then set a target, we set it at 2000, when you hit that target, choose 1 person who suggested your page to win.

This means for the cost of a product you have increased your marketing network, appeared on lots of peoples histories and facebook profiles and raised your profile lots. We had about 1500 likes in under a week, 1000 of which were in the first 24 hours.

John Frugal Lakey with £100 i would set up a personal shopping service, where i live there is alot of old peoples independant homes and sheltered accomodation. i would print flyers , arange with the managers, buy crates / boxes etc. i would offer them a weekly service and charge just a small % for this service.

The problem i think they face is not being able to carry much themselves, a friendly face to see each week, ordering small orders, not internet savy to order online through tecso, asda, etc. to get them interested i would offer £20 out of the £100 prize fund on a raffle, first order gets a ticket, and end of month the raffle gets them £20.

Aaron Boardley My business idea: Personalised underwear. Everyone walks round with low-slung jeans proclaiming that their name is Calvin Klein or Tommy Boxfresh...well I'm not Calvin Klein. Or Tommy Boxfresh. Or Mark Sandspencer for that matter. I'm Aaron Boardley, and I want my pants to proclaim so.

Seriously though, custom printed and embroidered t-shirts are standard businesses now, why not custom embroidered box-short waistbands? They're current;y impossible to find. I want to start that revolution.

Amanda Wilson The business I would launch on a shoestring would be a personalised greetings card company. This is actually something my 14yr old daughter will be doing as part of her BTEC Enterprise course. The money would come in very handy for her!

Luca Massaro If i had a spare £100 to blow on an idea, i'd set up a simple site and branding for: The '140review'. Products and Content reviews suitable for Twitter. A website dedicated to reviewing products in 140 Characters. Daily reviews of any product with either a professional or fun aspect. Perfect for Retweets and topics can vary across the board.

EG: @140review New Andrex Range: Soft & smooth on the butt, makes other toilet paper feel like sand paper. Perfect for effective wiping. (insert url)

The url will go to the 140review.com site and there a more in depth review can be read in a (read more) drop down or external links to product sites for purchase.
