Attempting to beat one of the most successful companies in the
world at its own game may seem risky, but Addiply, which is
challenging Google's AdWords and AdSense for their online
advertising crown, is already having some success: now that it's in
the final stages of integration with the Guardian's new hyper-local
web service, GuardianLocal, it is also being trialled by 22 of
Trinity Mirror's local newspaper sites. Not bad for a business
which was run from the profits of another website after it was
refused funding by NESTA after the government innovation agency
said Addiply's offering was 'beyond our area of expertise and
experience'.
