audioBoo
CEO Mark Rock says Audioboo wants to become the Youtube of the
spoken word. And the team may well achieve that. They launched in
March 2009 just as a side-project, but they've received press from
the likes of the BBC and the Guardian and are being celebrated
internationally. And they've rustled up 36,000 registered users to
date - Stephen Fry, the British Library and Chris Moyles among
them. You can hear everything from the birth of a baby to whispered
words about human mortality and wartime polemic by browsing their
pages. All 'boos' (recordings) are of broadcast quality, which has
got the broadcast journalism world all aflutter too.
