Bulldog Natural Grooming

Bulldog became the UK's first natural skincare brand for men when it launched in July 2007. Founders Simon Duffy and Rhodri Ferrier secured Sainsbury's as a first stockist. Since ending an exclusivity contract with the supermarket in July 2008, Bulldog's gone on to line the shelves of Tesco, Boots, Superdrug, Whole Foods, Planet Organic, Waitrose and Ocado. The Bulldog boys are savvy marketers, despite having nothing like the budgets of their household-name competitors. Faced with a critical lack of brand awareness, they persuaded Peep Show's David Mitchell to produce a series of Soap Box podcasts under their banner. And they've created a unique brand for their sector: Bulldog is butch and unfussy, the antithesis of the usual image the men's skincare sector.

  • Soap Box podcasts received 2 million views online and hit number one on iTunes download chart
  • Manufacture all packaging and products in Britain to reduce the environmental impact and support British workers
  • Has grown at a rate of over 130 new stores per month since July 2008
  • Ambitious growth plans to get into 1,000 stores across Scandinavia over the next 3 years
