GroupSpaces founder and Oxford student David says most of his competitors, like Eventbrite, are 'one-trick ponies'. GroupSpaces works hard to be different. Group members don't need to create a user account and password, only group managers do. A group profile helps you get exposure on Google, run a professional-looking email newsletter, share management between group committee members, run surveys and archive news from your website. It's also perfect for real-world groups such as sports clubs and reading groups, whose members don't necessarily want to have an online presence. David recognises that many groups still use Facebook, so has cannily enabled deep Facebook integration to give groups the promotional benefits of Facebook features.
