One of London's most well-known reviews sites, TrustedPlaces was originally started because its founders were frustrated by their limited knowledge of London's social scene. In 2007, the site was hailed as one of the Guardian's top dotcoms to watch - but difficult funding conditions last year forced its founders to make some tough decisions. The result was a new white-label offering, launched in mere eight weeks. One of the company's first white-label partners was publishing giant DMGT, which launched hyper-local news offering localpeople.co.uk in July last year.
