Crowdity
Following the success of group buying pace-setter Groupon,
Crowdity has made impressive ground to join the chasing pack since
its launch in 2010. Founders Rob Berrisford, Emma Kennedy (both
ex-TopTable employees) and Jess Berrisford, readily admit they're
looking to eat into the market Groupon has created, but with a
fraction of the budget of its reported $25bn-valued US rival.
Crowdity is already hitting some impressive numbers, shifting
33,000 Ocado vouchers in one day! Crowdity takes a commission of
every sale with revenues totalling £500,000 in little over a year.
The founders took £50,000 of friends and family funding in exchange
for a small equity stake and the company is already profitable.
- UK competitor to US giant Groupon
- Founders with track record in online voucher industry
- Strong sales and already profitable
