Ella Riley
Wish toffee didn't stick your jaws together? Ella Riley is the
only sweet manufacturer in the UK that produces the unique,
non-tooth-pulling toffee that is still a firm toffee not a caramel.
Neat, huh? It's her great great uncle's recipe and she recently
acquired it back from Kraft, who owned the rights. Today, Ella
Riley, named for Freya's Sykes' grandmother, is comprised of one
shop, a thriving wholesale business and a factory on the way. Sykes
cannot meet demand for her olde worlde confectionery: there's just
too many people after the stuff. But rather than build any old
factory to boost production, Sykes has her heart set on an
eco-solution complete with solar panels and wind turbines. Of
course, you would expect no less from a company that recycles its
jars and Lion's boxes. With more products, Ella Riley will have to
deliver to its customers. And yes, the fleet will be green.
