nDreams
The games industry has gone through some transformative changes
over the past decade. nDreams founder Patrick O'Luanaigh made the
sage decision to shun a shrinking retail market in favour of
developing free, virtual games. Well, we say free, there are plenty
of things to buy within the games. These virtual item sales bring
in hefty revenues too, helping nDreams pass the £1m turnover mark.
The technology firm isn't tied into any particular platform, using
cross-browser technology to allow the games to play on the iPhone,
Facebook, web, Xbox 360 and PS3. nDreams is one of the top two
virtual items publishers in the UK - with over 300,000 sold in the
past six months. It's grown from a one-man band in 2006 to a
16-staff strong company without any debt.
- Tapping in to the trend for free, virtual games
