Rocktails founders Naomi Kibble and Helen McAvoy were told that
it would take two years and £100,000 to bring their new frozen
cocktail concept to market. Instead, the pair did it in less than a
year on a shoestring budget of £23,000. Ideal for cocktail lovers
with no time, a tiny kitchen, or a shortage of mixology skills,
Rocktails come with just three instructions: freeze, leave,
squeeze. Easy. Unlike many players in the alcohol industry, Kibble
and McAvoy have also decided to be transparent about ingredients,
calories, and alcohol unit measures. Of course, they can afford to
brag: their pre-mixed cocktails are free from artificial colours
and flavourings, come in double servings at 10% ABV and each
cocktail is no more than 140 calories per serving. The firm has
only been trading for five weeks but is already three weeks ahead
on sales targets, and the multiples are clamouring to stock the
current range in Frostberry, Arctic Passion and Coolcumber
flavours.
