a home office to keep overheads low, Gascoigne's network of
freelances are all senior PR folk, but she scales the team up - or
down - as business dictates. This allows her to offer highly
competitive rates to her small business clients - and there's no
retainer fee. Gascoigne started her business after being made
redundant. Within three years, she has grown the agency from a
single investment of £500 (to buy a laptop) to a £60,000-turnover
firm with a loyal roster of clients.
